Hello TCFU Leaders,
Welcome to Month 2 of your “Accentuate Your DISC” journey! Last month we explored your individual styles—but here’s the leadership truth: understanding others
is just as important as understanding yourself.
Let’s take it up a notch and look at what each style needs from you.
💥 D (Dominant) needs:
Directness
Clear goals
Respect for their time
Tip: If you’re going to bring a problem, bring a solution too. Ds appreciate action.
💡 I (Influencing) needs:
Enthusiasm
A chance to speak and be heard
Recognition
Tip: Engage them in conversation. They thrive on connection and creativity.
✅ S (Steady) needs:
Consistency
Appreciation for their loyalty
Time to adapt to change
Tip: Don’t rush them. A
little reassurance goes a long way.
🔍 C (Conscientious) needs:
Details
Accuracy
Respect for
their process
Tip: Give them time to think and space to get it right. Avoid vague directions.
This month’s focus is all about empathy in action. When you honor what others need, you build trust—and that’s what great leadership is built on.
🧠 Emotional Intelligence Moment
Before your next meeting or conversation, try this: Ask yourself, “What might this person need right now based on their DISC style?” It only takes a few seconds and the payoff is deeper connection, better collaboration, and fewer misunderstandings.
You don’t have to lead like everyone else. You just need to know how everyone else leads.
With appreciation,
