A couple of days ago, I was at a conference and rooming with one of my friends. The night before, we had stayed up late in praise, sharing the goodness of the Lord. It was a sweet time of reflection, and it felt like God was already preparing our hearts for what was to come.
After the conference ended and we returned to the room, my friend realized she didn’t have her wallet. We began praying, retracing
our steps, calling others, and searching the room. I went back myself to the conference room but didn’t see anything—only a bag of trash. By now, she was ready to call the card company and cancel everything. But then she said the words that changed everything: “I’m going to take another look.”
She went back to the conference area, glanced at the trash, and almost walked away. But something nudged her to look again ti go through the trash. There it
was—her wallet tucked between two plates! She called me shouting and doing her Hallelujah dance—and of course, I did too!
God had turned a stressful moment into a testimony. It felt like His way of saying: Take another look—I can do exceedingly more than you can think or ask...and he did!
The truth is, how often do we stop believing right before the answer shows up? My friend’s wallet wasn’t gone—it was just hidden. God was reminding us
that what seems lost may only be waiting for us to look again with faith. Sometimes the opportunity, the healing, or the breakthrough is right there, but we need to trust God enough to take another look.
