As we reflect on Deuteronomy 26–28, Moses reminds the people of Israel to remember God’s faithfulness and to remain obedient to His voice. These chapters emphasize gratitude, covenant, and the blessings that follow when God’s people walk faithfully with Him.
The message is clear: obedience positions us for blessing.
God was preparing the Israelites to enter the
Promised Land, but He wanted them to understand that their future success would not come from their own strength alone—it would come from walking in alignment with Him.
Reading these chapters reminds me of a personal experience.
Years ago, while my husband and I were vacationing in Hawaii, I remember thinking, One day I would love to have an assignment here. It’s so beautiful. When I returned home, I took a step of faith. I called the person who held the
position I hoped for, inquired about the opportunity, and began praying and fasting about it.
Interestingly, at the time I made that call, I didn’t even qualify for the assignment because of my rank. But that didn’t stop me from preparing. I kept doing my part—serving faithfully, growing where I was planted, and trusting God with the process.
Three years later, I received the call...pack your bags you are coming to Hawaii.
And do you know
I only got to stay one year? But it was the right place, the right time, and the right people. That assignment helped position me to eventually become the first female to serve in the position from which I would retire.
What seemed like a short season was actually a strategic step in God’s plan.
Sometimes God answers prayers in ways we don’t expect. A season may not be long, but it can be incredibly significant in positioning us for
what comes next.
Deuteronomy reminds us that when we walk in obedience, God orders our steps. The blessing is not just in the destination—it is also in the preparation and positioning along the journey.
Women of Worth, obedience often places us in the right place, at the right time, with the right people.
Reflection
- Is there a desire God placed in your heart that you are still trusting Him to
fulfill?
- Are you continuing to do your part while you wait for His timing?
- Could God be positioning you through your current season for something greater ahead?
Prayer
Father God,
Thank You for being the One who orders our steps. Help us remain faithful and obedient in every season, even when we cannot yet see the outcome. Teach us to trust Your timing and continue preparing for what You have ahead. Position us in the right
places, with the right people, for the purpose You have for our lives.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
