This week’s reading centers on leadership, divided hearts, and the power of choosing who we will truly follow.
As we move through 1 Kings, we see kings rise and fall and some walking in obedience, many turning away. A repeated phrase echoes: they did evil in the eyes of the Lord. This reminds us that position does not equal alignment. You can have influence and still be out of step with
God.
Then we arrive at one of the most powerful moments in Scripture, Elijah on Mount Carmel in 1 Kings 18.
The people were wavering, caught between God and Baal, trying to hold on to both.
Elijah boldly asks:
“How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him.”
That question still speaks today.
Women of Worth, God is not asking for partial commitment. He is calling for full
devotion.
On Mount Carmel, the prophets of Baal cried out with no response. But when Elijah prayed, God answered by fire clearly demonstrating His power and presence.
This moment reminds us:
• God responds to those who are aligned with Him
• You cannot live fully committed to God while divided in your heart
• There is power in choosing God completely
A divided heart leads to instability.
A devoted heart leads to clarity and
power.
Women of Worth, this week is an invitation to examine where we stand.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank You for being the one true and living God. Forgive us for any areas where our hearts have been divided. Help us choose you fully, not partially, not occasionally, but completely.
Give us the courage to stand firm in our faith and to follow You without hesitation. Let our
lives reflect true devotion, and may we never waver between what is right and what is easy.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
