This week’s reading reveals a powerful truth: God preserves what He has purposed.
In 2 Kings, we see transitions of power, moments of judgment, and acts of obedience. There are kings who rise and fall, decisions that bring consequences, and yet through it all, God’s hand remains steady.
In the anchor chapters (2 Kings 8–11), we witness both chaos and
preservation.
There is betrayal. There is destruction. There is an attempt to wipe out an entire royal lineage. But in the middle of it all, one child, Joash, is hidden and protected. While everything around him seemed lost, God was quietly preserving the promise through him.
Women of Worth, this is a word:
What God has purposed for your life cannot be destroyed by what surrounds you.
Even when things look
uncertain…
Even when leadership shifts…
Even when opposition rises…
God is still preserving His promise.
Joash was hidden for a season, not forgotten, not overlooked, but protected and prepared. And at the right time, he was revealed and stepped into his rightful place.
Sometimes God will hide you to protect you.
Sometimes, he will cover you until it’s time for you to be seen.
Hidden does not mean
rejected.
Hidden often means preserved.
Women of Worth, you may be in a season where things feel uncertain or even chaotic, but God is still in control. His plan is still intact.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank You for being the One who preserves and protects Your purpose in our lives. Even when things feel uncertain, help us trust that You are still in control. Remind us that what You have spoken
over us will come to pass.
Give us peace in seasons where we feel hidden, and help us trust that You are preparing us for the right time. Strengthen our faith and remind us that Your promises are secure.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
