As we move through this week's reading, one theme rises above the rest: prayer invites the presence and power of God.
David spends his final days preparing for what he will never personally build: the Temple. He gathers resources, develops plans, and encourages the next generation. Though he would not see the finished work, he understood that some assignments are bigger than one
lifetime.
Then in 2 Chronicles 4–7, we witness the completion and dedication of the Temple under Solomon's leadership. This was more than a building project. It was a sacred moment where heaven and earth seemed to meet.
What captures my attention is not the beauty of the Temple, but what happened when Solomon prayed.
After years of preparation, planning, and work, Solomon humbled himself before God and prayed. In response, God's glory
filled the Temple so powerfully that the priests could not continue their ministry.
Think about that for a moment.
The breakthrough came after the preparation.
The glory came after the prayer.
Women of Worth, prayer is not just something we do before a meal or during a crisis. Prayer is our invitation for God to enter every area of our lives.
Many of us are asking God for answers, direction, healing, provision, or
peace. Yet these passages remind us that before we seek God's hand, we must seek His heart.
Prayer changes us before it changes our circumstances.
It aligns our hearts with God's will.
It strengthens our faith while we wait.
It reminds us that we are not carrying life's burdens alone.
One of the most powerful lessons from Solomon's prayer is humility. He recognized that his wisdom, leadership, and success were insufficient without
God's presence.
The same is true for us.
No title, achievement, relationship, or accomplishment can replace the power of a praying heart.
Women of Worth, never underestimate what God can do through a woman who prays.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank You for the gift of prayer and the privilege of coming boldly into Your presence. Help us become women who seek You
first—not only in difficult times but in every season of life.
Teach us to pray with humility, faith, and expectation. Draw us closer to Your heart and help us trust that You are working even when we cannot see it. May our lives reflect a deep dependence on You and a confidence that comes from knowing You are always near.
