Week 2: Eyes That See
Scripture:
“I will climb up to my watchtower and stand at my guardpost.
There I will wait to see what the Lord says…” — Habakkuk 2:1
Devotional:
Sister, God doesn’t just speak to your ears—He speaks to your eyes.
When Habakkuk positioned himself to hear God, he said, “I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me.” He expected God’s voice to come in
vision—and it did.
Many women pray but never expect to see. We ask for answers, but forget to ask for vision. James 4:2 reminds us: “You have not because you ask not.”
God still speaks in pictures. In impressions. In inner movies that play softly on the screen of your heart. But vision must be invited, just like the Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13 says if you ask for the Spirit, He will come. Another promise that is yours.
So repent if
you’ve dismissed this part of prayer. It’s okay to say, “Lord, I haven’t been looking. But I want to see.” Then do something bold. When you pray or study the Bible this week, place yourself inside the story. See it. Feel it. Walk in it. Then say, “Holy Spirit, take over this vision. Show me what You want me to see.”
Ephesians 1:17–18 promises that God gives the Spirit of wisdom and revelation—so that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened. But don’t walk
this journey alone.
Share what you sense or see with someone spiritually grounded—someone known for hearing God's voice.
Ask them to help you discern what’s truly from the Lord.
Hearing God through vision is powerful. But it starts with looking on purpose and keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus—especially in prayer.
Prayer:
Lord, I repent for praying without expecting to see. Open my eyes. Take over my
imagination. Let me hear You through vision. I fix my gaze on You.
Your Turn: Reflect & Respond
Ask Boldly
Invite God to open the eyes of your heart in prayer this week.
