As we move through Week 14 reading, we see a powerful thread—God’s ways don’t always look like our expectations.
In Joshua, we see territory being assigned and promises continuing to unfold. In Proverbs, we are reminded that wisdom, words, and posture matter. But in Judges, especially chapters 7–10, we encounter a defining truth: God’s victory often looks different than we
imagined.
Gideon’s story stands out.
God intentionally reduced Gideon’s army from thousands to just 300 men. Why? So that no one could take credit for the victory. What looked like less was actually more. What looked like weakness was actually God’s strategy.
Women of Worth, sometimes God will reduce, refine, and strip things away—not to harm us, but to position us for His glory.
Then we see a pattern in Judges: the
people forget God, fall into trouble, cry out, and God delivers them again. This cycle reminds us of God’s mercy, but it also challenges us to grow beyond repeated patterns.
Victory is not just about being delivered—it’s about being transformed.
God is not only bringing you out—He is calling you higher.
This week reminds us:
• You don’t need what you think you need—God is enough
• Less can be God’s setup for
more
• Victory comes when we trust His strategy, not our own
Women of Worth, your victory may not look like what you expected—but it will be exactly what God intended.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank You for reminding us that Your ways are higher than ours. Even when we don’t understand what You are doing, help us trust that You are working for our good. When things are reduced or don’t look the way we
expected, remind us that You are positioning us for victory.
Break any cycles in our lives that keep us from fully walking in freedom. Teach us to trust Your strategy, follow Your lead, and walk boldly in the victory You have already prepared.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Reflection
- Where in your life has God reduced something—and you didn’t understand why?
- Is there an area where God is asking you to trust
His way instead of your own?
- Are there any patterns in your life that God is calling you to break so you can walk fully in victory?
