This week’s reading is rich with faith, surrender, and the beauty of God working in quiet, unseen seasons.
In Ruth 1–4, we witness loyalty, obedience, and divine alignment. Ruth’s simple decision to stay committed—to Naomi and to God—positioned her for a legacy far greater than she could see. What seemed like loss became the doorway to purpose.
Then in 1 Samuel 1–3, we encounter Hannah—a
woman who carried deep pain but chose to bring it before the Lord. Her prayers were honest, heartfelt, and persistent. She didn’t allow her struggle to silence her—she allowed it to draw her closer to God.
And from that place of surrender, Samuel was born.
Samuel’s early life reminds us of another powerful truth:
God speaks—even in quiet seasons.
As a young boy, Samuel heard the voice of the Lord and responded, “Speak, Lord, for your
servant is listening.” That posture is what positioned him for purpose.
Women of Worth, this week reminds us:
• God is working even when nothing seems to be happening
• Your faithfulness in quiet seasons matters
• Your prayers are not overlooked
• Your obedience today can shape generations tomorrow
Not every season is loud. Not every season is visible. But every season is valuable when it is
surrendered to God.
Ruth remained faithful.
Hannah remained prayerful.
Samuel remained available.
And God moved in all three.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank You for reminding us that You are always at work, even in the quiet seasons. Help us remain faithful like Ruth, prayerful like Hannah, and available like Samuel. Strengthen our trust in You when we cannot see what You are
doing.
Teach us to listen for Your voice and to respond with willing hearts. We surrender every season to You, knowing that You are preparing us for purpose.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
