This week’s reading brings a powerful contrast—ending and beginning.
In 2 Kings 23–25, we witness the fall of a nation. Despite moments of reform, the people turn away from God, and the result is destruction and exile. It is a sobering reminder that choices matter and that turning from God has consequences.
But then… we turn the page to Luke.
And everything
changes.
Luke 1–4 introduces us to Jesus' arrival. The fulfillment of promise, the embodiment of hope, and the beginning of redemption. Where the Old Testament shows us what happens when people drift away, the New Testament reveals God’s plan to bring us back.
In Luke 1, we see obedience through Mary, her “yes” opened the door for God’s promise.
In Luke 2, we witness the birth of Jesus, the Savior, entering the world.
In Luke 3,
preparation begins—hearts being made ready.
In Luke 4, Jesus steps into His calling and declares His mission.
Women of Worth, this is the beauty of God:
Even after endings… He brings new beginnings.
Even after failure… He offers restoration.
Even after loss… He introduces purpose.
What was broken in 2 Kings begins to be restored in Luke.
This week reminds us that no matter what has ended in your life, God is
still writing a new chapter.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank You for being the God of new beginnings. Even when things fall apart, you are already working to restore and renew. Help us trust You in every transition and give us the courage to say “yes” to Your plan.
Prepare our hearts for what You are doing in this season, and help us walk confidently in the new things You are bringing into our
lives.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
