In Exodus 19–40, we witness a powerful shift in the relationship between God and His people. After delivering the Israelites from slavery, God brings them to Mount Sinai; not just to give laws, but to reveal His heart. He establishes a covenant and invites them into a deeper relationship. The instructions for the tabernacle may seem detailed, even overwhelming, but they reveal something profound: God desires to dwell with
His people.
The tabernacle wasn’t about perfection or performance; it was about presence. God wanted a space where His people could encounter Him, be reminded of His holiness, and know that He was near. Even after moments of fear, doubt, and disobedience, God did not withdraw. Instead, He continued to guide, instruct, and remain faithful.
As I reflect on these chapters, I can’t help but think about my own journey. I have gone through hard seasons in every
area of my life. Yet, the more I look back, the clearer it becomes that each challenge was preparation for where I am today. God was building something in me long before I understood it. What felt like delay or difficulty was actually divine preparation.
These chapters remind us that God often uses the process to prepare the place; both around us and within us. His presence is not reserved for the perfect; it is promised to the
willing.
Reflection
How does knowing that God desires to dwell with you change the way you view your past experiences and current season?
Prayer
Present God, thank You for never leaving me in the process. Help me recognize Your presence in both the challenging and the peaceful seasons of my life. Use every experience to prepare me for Your purpose. Amen.
