Due to the holiday schedule, this week's devotional combines Weeks 26 and 27 of our Bible in 52 Weeks journey.
As I reflected on these passages, one theme continued to resonate in my spirit: God positions His people before they understand His purpose.
In 2 Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat faced an impossible battle. Outnumbered and overwhelmed, he did
something that changed everything: he sought the Lord.
Instead of relying on military strength, he relied on God's promise.
The Lord's response has encouraged believers for generations:
"Do not be afraid or discouraged... For the battle is not yours, but God's."
Before the battle was won, the people worshiped.
Before the victory came, they praised.
Sometimes God asks us to worship
before we see the answer.
As we continue through 2 Chronicles, we also witness a heartbreaking pattern. Some kings sought God and experienced blessing. Others turned away, leading the nation further from Him. It is a reminder that every generation must choose whether it will follow God.
Then we arrive at the book of Esther.
What appears to be an ordinary story becomes one of God's greatest demonstrations of divine providence.
Interestingly, God's name is never mentioned in Esther, yet His fingerprints are on every page.
Esther didn't know why she had become queen.
Mordecai didn't know how God would deliver His people.
But at just the right moment came these unforgettable words:
"And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?"
Women of Worth, I believe that question reaches across
generations and speaks to us today.
You may wonder why God placed you in your family...
your workplace...
your community...
your ministry...
But perhaps you, too, have been positioned for such a time as this.
Your influence is not accidental.
Your experiences are not wasted.
Your testimony has purpose.
Like Jehoshaphat, God may be asking you to trust Him before you see the
victory.
Like Esther, He may be calling you to step forward with courage, even when it feels uncomfortable.
One thing both stories teach us is this:
God is always working behind the scenes for the good of His people.
Even when we cannot see Him...
He is positioning.
He is preparing.
He is protecting.
He is fulfilling His purpose.
Women of Worth, perhaps your greatest
opportunity is not somewhere in the future.
Perhaps it is right where God has you today.
Prayer
Father God,
Thank You for reminding us that You are always at work, even when we cannot see You. Help us trust You in every battle and every season of waiting. Give us the courage of Esther, the faith of Jehoshaphat, and the confidence to believe that You have positioned us with
purpose.
Help us worship before the victory, trust before the answer, and walk boldly into every opportunity You place before us. May our lives bring glory to You as we faithfully serve where You have planted us.
