Week 29 Reading: Job 22–42

Devotional: 

As we conclude the book of Job, we finally arrive at the moment we've been waiting for, not when Job receives answers, but when God speaks.

For chapter after chapter, Job wrestled with questions. His friends offered opinions, assumptions, and explanations, convinced they understood why Job was suffering. But when God finally responds in Job 40–42, He doesn't explain the "why."

Instead, He reveals the Who.

God reminds Job that His wisdom is beyond human understanding. He asks Job a series of questions that reveal His sovereignty over creation, demonstrating that the One who governs the universe can certainly be trusted with the details of our lives.

One of the most profound moments comes when Job says:

"My ears had heard of You, but now my eyes have seen You."

What changed?

Job's circumstances hadn't changed yet.

His understanding changed.

His encounter with God gave him a new perspective.

Women of Worth, sometimes we spend so much time asking, "Why, Lord?" that we miss the invitation to simply know Him more deeply.

There are seasons when God doesn't give us all the answers we seek. Instead, He gives us His presence.

And His presence becomes enough.

In the end, Job's story wasn't just about restored possessions—it was about a restored relationship. Job came to know God more intimately because of what he walked through.

That is one of the greatest gifts suffering can produce: a deeper dependence on the Lord.

Women of Worth, if you are waiting for answers today, don't miss the opportunity to encounter the One who already knows them.

Sometimes God's greatest response is not an explanation.

Sometimes it is His presence.

Prayer

Father God,

Thank You for reminding us that even when we don't understand Your ways, we can trust Your heart. Help us seek Your presence more than explanations and Your wisdom more than our own understanding.

Deepen our faith through every season, and teach us to rest in the confidence that You are sovereign, good, and faithful. May we come to know You more intimately as we walk with You each day.
